Poland coach Czesław Michniewicz was disappointed with his team's defeat, but he praised France for their quality.

"France are a very good team," he said. "They are the reigning world champions and they showed today why they are one of the best teams in the world. We played well in the first half, but we made some mistakes in the second half that cost us the match."
